DynamicWebPaige · x · 2026-09-23
A Vision x Robotics research dinner highlighted Robot Everest: humanoid robot Pemba, which already summited Ecuador's Chimborazo (6,263m), will attempt Everest in Sept-Oct 2026 with a Sherpa guide team and a summit livestream. A San Francisco hackathon (Aug 29-30) will tackle extreme-altitude challenges: offline onboard inference, ice locomotion, -40°C/300km/h winds, and satellite comms. Other dinner topics included synthetic data gaps, foundation models for robotics, and NVIDIA GPUs for autonomous vehicles.
