Tesla Berlin Confirms Workers Will Wear Camera Rigs to Train Optimus; Global Humanoid Shipments Top 22k in H1

Management at Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg confirmed that starting mid-August, selected teams will join the global training for Optimus: chosen employees will wear special camera-equipped backpacks and helmets during work to record their movements as training data for the humanoid robot.
This follows a prototype Optimus spotted behind frosted glass at the Berlin factory, suggesting the effort has been underway in secret for some time. Context: global humanoid robot shipments exceeded 22,000 units in H1 2025 — still a drop in the bucket versus the million-unit milestone.
