Yale CS PhD candidate Chen Liu has open-sourced the Python scripts behind his publication figures from venues like Nature Machine Intelligence, ICML, NeurIPS and ECCV, in a repo called figures4papers (6.4k stars).
- 8 paper projects, one folder each, with scripts, data and final figures together—swap in your data to reproduce the style
- Covers bar plots, composition breakdowns, radar plots, line/trend plots, 3D spheres and concept figures
- The figure style is also packaged as a Skill for Cursor, Claude Code and Codex, so coding agents can generate figures following the spec
- Spec details: drop top/right spines, black bar edges, fixed semantic palette (blue for your method, green for improvements, red for baselines), 300 DPI default export
- No install needed: open the repo in an agent and use the README's prompt template referencing SKILL.md
