Analyst Ben Bajarin shares a paid Diligence Stack expert interview with Lightfield Energy's Billy Sorensen on powering AI datacenters. Key points: power, land and shells are deeper constraints than the chip supply chain; behind-the-meter generation (e.g. Bloom Energy fuel cells) lets datacenters start sooner while awaiting utility service, but developers still need agreements covering build and operating costs; and counterintuitively, the power plant is a small share of total investment at a compute site.
