Rat Stack is a new approach to building an app and its cloud as one typed program: Effect handles the hard parts, Alchemy infers infrastructure from code, and compiler-enforced bindings replace style-guide rules. Key ideas: Layers carry their own infrastructure (vendor swap is one line), code correctness gates what agents can ship, and cutting failure rates multiplies how long agents run unattended. It ships full agent integration via llms.txt, an MCP server (one-line setup for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and installable skills — premised on the claim that AI agents still make poor initial architecture decisions, so the stack must raise the floor.
