Sam Altman announced GPT-6 Sol and Luna, claiming significant improvements over the 5.6 family in intelligence, alignment, work output, coding, and computer use.
The new models cost half the price per token, and even less per task, according to Altman. OpenAI's accompanying announcement attributes the price cut to caching and inference efficiency gains.
