Dev builds a test scenario framework so Astra can tune sprite/3D sort ordering
tomjohndesign · x · 2026-09-23
While building the game Pilgrimage, tomjohndesign kept hitting problems with the correct ordering of sprites and 3D assets — the sort order must change as characters turn relative to each other. He built a framework that generates test scenarios, lets him manually reorder objects, and copies the output of all tests as JSON so Astra can tune the logic accordingly.
