Anthropic Releases Claude Opus 5.5: New SOTA in Agentic Coding, 40% Cheaper

Anthropic has officially launched Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in the new Claude 5.5 family, claiming new SOTA performance in agentic coding and computer use.
Per the announcement, Opus 5.5 performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks while costing 40% less to run than Opus 5.
