Anthropic's official ClaudeDevs account announced Opus 5.5 pricing on the Claude Platform: $4 input / $20 output per million tokens, down from Opus 5's $5/$25. Cache reads drop 60%, from $0.50 to $0.20.
Run /claude-api migrate in Claude Code to switch to claude-opus-5-5. Anthropic also linked a guide to lowering costs on the Claude Platform. A follow-up reply notes Opus 5.5 is much better at writing — clearer, less jargon, and more compliant with user-specified writing rules, making long Claude Code sessions easier to follow.
