Anthropic Ships Opus 5.5: Cheaper, Faster, New Daily Driver for Coding

Anthropic officially announced Opus 5.5, now available in Claude Code and on the Claude platform. The company says it is smarter, cheaper and faster, has become their new daily driver for coding and agentic work, and they hope it becomes yours too.
On safety, Opus 5.5 is the first Opus with Fable 5.1-class safeguards covering cyber, bio, and frontier LLM development; flagged requests fall back to another model, and Anthropic says it is working to reduce incorrect flags.
