Responding to Grady Booch's claim that LLMs are merely "non-deterministic statistical engines" that don't reason, researcher Aran Nayebi points out that human brains are also non-deterministic statistical engines walking through a large static multi-dimensional manifold — the environment — yet we don't deny humans reason. A crisp counter to the statistical-parrot argument.
