Eugene Plexus open-source alpha: a browser control plane for multi-machine local inference

The author launched the public alpha (v0.1.0-alpha.2) of Eugene Plexus, an open-source control plane for managing local inference: model discovery and downloads, inference engine setup, model launching, and a gateway with OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible endpoints. Runs on Windows/Linux single machines, or the control plane can live on Docker/NAS connecting separate worker machines.
Feedback sought: install from docs alone, load a model and get a first reply, connect an existing app, and whether error messages are informative. Mac testers are especially wanted — the alpha ships a macOS installer and a llama.cpp/Metal path but hasn't been verified on physical Macs; MLX support is on a separate branch.
