Replying to Andrew Ng, the poster argues that doom is the only forecast that pays either way: if the world ends, you were the prophet; if it doesn't, you were the reason it didn't. Nobody funds the scientist who says the machine is fine — so the incentive isn't truth, it's a no-lose bet.
