Yun-Ta Tsai of Tesla's FSD team argues LLM work has devolved into chasing benchmark bar charts. Self-driving only succeeded by being good where it matters — real weather, real attention, real consequences — and would have failed if forced to optimize leaderboards. "You can climb a chart without ever having to be present. Presence is the whole job."
