Survey: 60% of firms see AI productivity gains, but costs remain unpredictable

A survey of 107 senior leaders and professionals by The Information highlights a paradox in enterprise AI adoption:
- 60% of companies report higher productivity, yet 60% also report unpredictable AI costs — AI creates value while remaining economically hard to model
- 52% say they understand token costs, but only about a third actually control them
The takeaway: the bottleneck for enterprise AI is cost governance, not capability.
