TypeSafe AI released Jev last week, billing it as the first "System One" model: no text, no chat — you give it a situation and options, it returns odds for each. Where LLMs are slow, word-based System 2, Jev is one look, one answer.
Why it's interesting: it can only pick from your options (can't invent answers), runs in 0.45s at 3–4 cents per 1,000 decisions, and output is free since there's no output text. The catch: it can't reason, count, or write — and it can still be confidently wrong.
