Meta's LION uses sparse key-value memory to fix preference drift in generative recsys
armand_ruiz · x · 2026-09-22
The Meta team behind auto-recsys proposes LION: instead of continual retraining of shared weights as tastes drift (which causes 'evolution conflict' where dominant users steamroll the long tail), it grows a sparse key-value memory layer that evolves per behavioral pattern, following principles of isolated memorization, reinforced evolution, and scalable application.
