According to third-party estimates from Apptopia (cited via @alexeheath), Meta's Muse app hit 1.8M downloads in its first 12 days, beating ChatGPT's 1.3M over the same period. Daily active users reached 642K versus ChatGPT's 231K.
Rihard Jarc argues this shows agents are AI's real use case — chatbots were just a repackaged Google Search — and that the market has been wrong to write off Meta, which may ultimately win consumer AI use cases. Note the figures are external estimates, directionally interesting rather than exact.
