A piece of trivia many people don't know: the "o" in OpenAI's o1/o3 series stands for OpenAI, so their full names were essentially OpenAI 1 and OpenAI 3.
The author adds that in retrospect, o1 should have been called GPT-5 — it deserved the name more than the actual GPT-5 did.
