Non-Coder Uses ChatGPT to Build an Accessibility App Ecosystem for Her Quadriplegic Brother

The author's brother Ben has TUBB4A-related leukodystrophy and is non-speaking and quadriplegic, with head turns as his only reliable movement. With no programming background, she used ChatGPT to build a working prototype in about a week, then iterated into a full ecosystem: with just two head-mounted buttons, Ben can browse the web, pick from hundreds of shows, text for the first time, use a real-time conversation suggestion app, and play dozens of custom games.
The family founded the NARBE Foundation, donating switch kits and developing free open-source switch-based tools via the SwitchedGames project, and will launch a "Build for One" initiative this fall to help similar families. The point: AI has lowered the barrier so much that non-programmers can build real, life-changing accessibility solutions.
