Figma designer pushes back on Eric Schmidt's claim that UI will largely disappear

- Eric Schmidt argued UIs will largely go away: agents speak natural language, interfaces can be generated on demand, and with bot traffic already exceeding human traffic, the web may become UI-less with 90%+ non-human traffic.
- A Figma designer (Kris Rasmussen) countered that UIs aren't going away: humans will work alongside agents and need human-readable ways to audit what agents do; some interfaces (dashboards, in-chat UI for ephemeral tasks) will be generated, but the most important ones will remain intentionally designed; we'll need both deterministic and non-deterministic interfaces, and new modalities like voice, VR/AR and BCI will introduce new paradigms.
- Bottom line: the surface area of design keeps growing — design is the new code and the key differentiator for software, and Figma is exploring how to help designers shape non-deterministic systems.
