Sarah Hooker argues the industry pendulum is clearly swinging, for three reasons: proprietary model pricing is widely unpredictable under agentic workflows; customized workflows perform better; and IP concerns are growing as frontier models move into new verticals and leverage exposure to customer workloads. She adds that the current market landscape will look completely different in 12 months — and suspects it already does.
