NPC-Forge: open-source framework runs deterministic agents on CPU, even a Raspberry Pi

gioscarab · reddit · 2026-09-21

Developer gioscarab released NPC-Forge, a framework for building deterministic agents that run on ordinary or even obsolete hardware — NPCs execute on CPU alone, including on a Raspberry Pi.

The demo app TERMy is a terminal assistant that translates plain-English requests into shell scripts and executes them, and can run an entire English-script file end to end (e.g. create a file, search Wikipedia, append results, open an editor). It also handles Python programming questions.

Aimed at developers who want to self-host agents on low-end hardware; the author is soliciting feedback.
