A Reddit user exported everything their AI tools remembered about them and found nearly half was stale or wrong: a project still marked as Postgres three weeks after migrating to Turso, an old work laptop hostname, and a 'no Friday deploys' rule flipped into 'prefers Friday deploys' — with models acting on bad data for weeks. The fix: a single external memory store shared across tools via MCP, corrected in one place with last-write-wins, plus only saving memories on explicit request. 40 minutes to set up.
