A developer open-sourced an unofficial Perplexity MCP that runs on your own Cloudflare Workers and plugs into the ChatGPT app. It uses a Perplexity web session instead of the paid API, so no API key is needed, returns answers with source links, and runs on Cloudflare's free tier. Caveats: it relies on unofficial consumer endpoints—sessions can expire and Perplexity may break it anytime; personal use only.
