Fast takeoff already underway, warns commenter: AI researchers may slip beyond control

The author argues we may already be in a fast takeoff, shrinking the window to build real safeguards. LLMs won't "solve AGI" directly, but sufficiently advanced LLMs must act as "AI researchers" to discover what comes next — and past a certain point we may stop understanding or controlling them. He also argues "it's all about the money" is the wrong lens: AGI is post-money.
