Doomer critique: AI apocalypse is an infinitely renewable narrative that never comes due

A critique of AI doomerism's narrative structure: the deadline is always five years away. When 2030 arrives and society is fine, it shifts to 2035, 2040, 2050; if AI fails to wipe us out, doomers pivot to nanotech, picotech, or whatever new technology supposedly means humanity is finished. Every failed deadline gets quietly replaced — doom is an infinitely renewable narrative.
