Anthropic's 2030 scenarios: 32% GDP boom could come with 17.9% white-collar unemployment

Anthropic's economic team, with MIT and Stanford researchers, released task-based scenarios for AI's impact on the US economy by 2030, decomposing Labor Department jobs into micro-tasks.

A Morning Consult survey of 11,000 Americans puts the median expectation between the second and third scenarios. The report highlights AI's reversal of historical patterns: the more cognitive the work, the more exposed it is. Anthropic says it will push for policy research to broadly share AI's economic gains.
