User banned twice despite OpenAI support pre-approval; second ban came after payment
lentotento · reddit · 2026-09-20
A Reddit user recounts being banned twice: after getting email confirmation from OpenAI human support that creating a new account was allowed, his company-email account was banned almost immediately. A second account on his personal email passed verification and payment was accepted — then it was banned about 24 hours later.
Appeals for both accounts have gone nowhere, with support refusing to explain what happened or what rule was violated, despite the user explicitly checking beforehand.
