Anthropic Hires Accenture as Embedded Safety Auditor in $1B-Each AI Safety Pact
rohanpaul_ai · x · 2026-09-20
Anthropic is partnering with Accenture to independently evaluate its frontier AI. Accenture's Faculty unit will act like an outside safety inspector with unusually deep access inside Anthropic while Claude models are built and tested, covering model evaluations, red-teaming, alignment assessments, and safeguard testing.
Both companies expect to invest at least $1B each over five years in AI-safety capacity, with Anthropic directly paying Accenture for the evaluation work. Accenture will try to break the models, check whether safety rules actually work, and examine whether Anthropic follows its own safety commitments.
The unresolved question: since Anthropic pays the evaluator, how independent Accenture can remain while working so closely with the company it judges remains to be seen.
