Anthropic-Accenture $1B AI evaluation deal under fire: actual evaluator is EA-backed Faculty
kevinnbass · x · 2026-09-20
Anthropic announced a partnership with Accenture for independent evaluation of frontier AI, part of its commitment to embed external evaluators; both companies expect to invest at least $1 billion over five years.
Critics reading the fine print point out the actual evaluator is Faculty, whose CEO Marc Warner is a longtime Effective Altruist ideologue, with EA megadonor Jaan Tallinn among its largest donors and investors—raising questions about the neutrality of the "independent" evaluation.
