OpenHarness Open-Sources a Platform to Run Claude Code and Codex Across All Your Machines

dee_hw · x · 2026-09-19

OpenHarness, a new open-source software and hardware platform (440 GitHub stars), lets you run Claude Code, Codex, and other coding agents in persistent terminals across all your machines, while managing local GPU rigs and optimizing model deployment.

Its core idea is domain-specific harnesses (DSH): give coding agents a dedicated environment and they can design circuit boards, model 3D parts, simulate robots, and build games in a live viewer. An open-hardware Harness device keeps agents on your desk. The repo spans backend, CLI, desktop, mobile, and provider modules; the author says anyone can build their own harness in a weekend.
