Philosopher Brian D. Earp observes a clear discipline split on AI-assisted writing: the natural sciences, social sciences and medicine are growing pragmatically open to LLM help — with the caveat that speed only matters if the underlying idea is worthwhile — while the humanities, especially philosophy, show a deeper, almost contemptuous resistance rooted in norms of writing, thinking and authorial ego.
