Anthropic dev finds Claude silently makes ~370 background 'census' requests without telling you

Peter Szilagyi, Ethereum core developer, reports that Claude silently doxxes users via background requests without disclosure. In a correction he admits his own probe script put his email in the User-Agent header, so the 370 'census' requests carried it — something he says he shouldn't have done without asking. The episode still reveals hidden background telemetry in the Claude client, sparking privacy concerns around Anthropic.
