Huawei Launches HarmonyOS 7: System-Level Agent Xiaoyi Orchestrates 400K Apps with 90% Task Completion

Huawei officially unveiled HarmonyOS 7 at its all-scenario product launch, alongside the tri-fold flagship MateXT 2 and wide-bar PuraX View. After three-plus years of ecosystem building, HarmonyOS 6/7 devices exceed 85 million units, with 400K+ apps and services and 100K+ native apps.\n\nSystem-level AI is the headline. Xiaoyi becomes the unified intelligent entry to all apps: app capabilities are exposed as Skills or agents, backed by 200+ system perception data types, 2,100+ system abilities, 500+ partner Skills and 2,000+ agents. The underlying HMAF 2.0 framework uses semantic routing to decompose complex requests into executable subtask chains, achieving 90%+ completion on complex tasks. The system also self-improves, distilling user-taught methods into reusable Skills. On-device A2A (Agent-to-Agent) has landed, with Tencent Video first to integrate.\n\nOther pillars: smoothness (Ark engine + performance model, up to 15% perf gain, +30 min battery, 34% better app retention); security (Star Shield, six anti-fraud capabilities with 90%+ risk detection, HPIC cloud isolation with no data retention); convenience (Tap-to-connect across 130+ apps); immersion (spatial audio navigation with Amap, 3DGS restaurant previews from Dianping). The cross-device work agent "Xiaoyi Work" enters beta, extending automation to Computer Use scenarios across phone, tablet and PC.
