Anthropic's Fable 5.1 lands in Kiro, built for long-running context-heavy agentic sessions

Kiro announced that Anthropic's Fable 5.1 is now available to enterprise customers, targeting long-running, context-heavy agentic sessions. The model traces problems to root causes rather than surfacing symptoms and holds context across the full arc of complex tasks.
Three areas of improvement:
- Interactive tasks: more precise on quick bug fixes, refactors, and PR unblocking, with fewer back-and-forth steps.
- Long multi-step runs: large refactors and autonomous runs complete more reliably, with the model holding its plan without drifting near the finish line.
- Complex security/system-level work: better convergence on problems requiring reasoning across large codebases.
Paired with Kiro's spec-driven workflows, the model stops early on doomed tasks instead of burning credits. Enable it via the Model availability toggle in Kiro settings on the AWS Management Console (requires Model Governance).
