jev-sift: open-source MCP tool that lets agents classify before reading
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-09-19
- jev-sift (GitHub, 12 stars) is a portable agent plugin and MCP tool: pass a query plus a batch of file paths, URLs or text, and it sends content to the Jev model, returning compact relevance probabilities so your main agent only reads what matters.
- It also works as a tool gate: feed a tool's description and arguments as text to judge whether calling it would help, without executing it.
- Setup requires only a Jev API key from TypeSafe via env var; it calls the jev-latest endpoint directly with no extra UI or endpoint configuration.
