A practical gotcha: Claude Code's new AGENTS.md support works as a fallback by default, not a merge. If your project already has a CLAUDE.md, re-adding instructions like 'RUN THE TESTS' in AGENTS.md won't stack. Check for an old CLAUDE.md before configuring AGENTS.md.
