Stripe opens Muse connector program with Shared Payment Tokens for agent-initiated purchases

Stripe and Muse are opening connector development to third parties: developers bring the API, Muse supplies the agent, browser and user context. The key mechanism is Shared Payment Tokens (SPTs), scoped payment credentials for agent-initiated purchases that plug directly into existing Stripe Payment Intent integrations.
- SPTs are in public preview for the US, Canada and select European countries
- Stripe's docs outline a full agentic commerce stack: selling through agents, monetizing MCP servers, WebMCP browser payments and Universal Commerce Protocol
- The move signals agent commerce graduating from concept to deployable payment infrastructure
