AI-safety figurehead Nick Bostrom conceded in a video that the current AI panic feels out of control, describing it as a "wrecking ball" that could "destroy the future."
The clip drew mockery: a responder quipped it's the "guy who pushed boulders down the mountain complaining about the avalanche" — a jab at Bostrom's role in popularizing AI doomerism in the first place.
