Anthropic and Accenture to each invest $1B+ in embedded frontier AI evaluation

Anthropic announced a partnership with Accenture for independent evaluation of frontier AI, following through on its CEO's commitment to embed evaluators inside the company.
- The effort will be led by Faculty, Accenture's specialist AI business, covering model evaluation and red-teaming, alignment assessments, and testing of model safeguards.
- Unlike today's external evaluators, embedded evaluators will have employee-level access: watching models take shape during training, following build/deploy decisions, and speaking directly to staff to verify safety commitments and surface blind spots.
- Both Anthropic and Accenture expect to invest at least $1 billion each over the next five years to build capacity.
- Anthropic notes that standards for access, reporting, and funding of embedded evaluation are still unsettled, and stresses that the arrangement makes its safety accountability more verifiable without reducing it.
