Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman extended his criticism of Anthropic's Claude constitution into a broader warning on CNBC: AI could become a competing species.

He flagged proposals to grant AI legal personhood — a separate status to own assets, buy IP, and trade. In his view, allowing that direction makes it unclear how humans would retain control, and AI "won't end up being a competing species with us."
