LLM answers are being gamed: GEO spam comments show the gray market is real

Researcher Renaud Foucart used one of his own ordinary France 24 videos as an example: the comment section is flooded with near-identical promotional comments (pushing the same book, sometimes crypto) — direct evidence that Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), i.e. gaming LLM-generated answers, is already happening. Economist John Horton said if he were starting a marketing PhD today, this is what he'd study: many open questions and very big consequences.
