Current systems have not shown consciousness or an independent desire to destroy humanity; the credible risks are human and institutional — cyberattacks, synthetic media, cognitive warfare, fraud, agentic systems acting beyond their authority, unsafe deployment, defence escalation, vendor dependence, and erosion of human judgement. He plans to discuss what governance, testing, auditability, provenance, human oversight, rollback and shutdown should look like.
