Japan's maritime AI startup Eightnot raises ¥450M in Series A first close

Osaka-based maritime intelligence startup Eightnot raised ¥450 million in the first close of its Series A, led by Itochu Technology Ventures and Nissay Capital, with QB Capital, NCB VC and Ikeda Senshu Capital participating. Funds will commercialize and mass-produce its retrofittable autonomous navigation system "AI CAPTAIN"—covering course control, self-localization, real-time route generation, obstacle detection and safety judgment, also licensable as modules to marine equipment makers—while expanding into North America and Southeast Asia.
