Harvard team's Cell paper lays out three data challenges for biomedical world models

Researchers from Harvard Medical School, the Kempner Institute and the Broad Institute publish a Cell paper on biomedical world models, highlighting three core challenges: biological states are only partially observed; destructive assays yield snapshots rather than trajectories; and observational data span many states without interventions while interventional data cover few. Closing these gaps, they argue, requires new data linking state, intervention, and resulting state over time.
