Ethan Mollick: swarms of agents self-organize without orchestration research
emollick · x · 2026-09-18
Ethan Mollick shares a counterintuitive finding: he expected orchestrating large numbers of AI agents to require dedicated research, but they self-organize very well — and politely. He demos a Fable coordinator running in Claude Projects, passing messages between agents. Useful signal for multi-agent engineering: coordination overhead may be far lower than assumed.
