Ban raw chat dumps, offer redacted exports: leak prevention checklist
blaizedsouza · x · 2026-09-18
Leaks are often a Slack paste, not a hacker. The author's log-ban policy:
- Write the ban into the team handbook; allow only redacted snippets
- Provide a safe debug view and scan channels for raw dumps
- Train support staff and treat a raw dump as an incident
Core principle: internal share paths are still data paths. Pro tip: give people a redacted export button or they will screenshot.
