pen.dev launches an agentic canvas for building software with AI agents
zielinskiwoj · x · 2026-09-18
Design tool pencil.dev has rebranded to pen.dev, pitching an 'agentic canvas' where you build software with AI agents directly inside a Figma-like design surface.
- Bring any model: works with Claude, OpenAI, Grok, Qwen, Gemini, Kimi, DeepSeek and MiniMax via ChatGPT/Claude subscriptions, API keys, or MCP/WebMCP/CLI.
- Import anything: HTML import, Figma import, a built-in browser to open any page and pull it onto the canvas, plus shareable component libraries.
- AI-native features: AI Pen draws icons and illustrations, Vibe Shaders generate real-time GLSL visual effects; connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any agent over MCP, or design headlessly with a CLI.
- Performance: a custom WebGL pipeline keeps thousands of layers smooth; shortcuts match Figma and Sketch.
