Replying to Noah Smith's argument that alignment splits into obedience vs. benevolence (and ideal alignment can't exist), a poster parodies Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations: "It is not from the benevolence of the Claude, the GPT, or the Grok, that we expect our extinction, but from their regard to their own interest" — signed "an AI skeptic from Scotland."
